INFRASTRUCTURE: The ''Hrvatski Vitezovi'' Sports Centre – football stadium
In 2009, the Municipality of Dugopolje built in the heart of the Podi-Dugopolje economic zone a football stadium, which is the first phase of the ''Hrvatski Vitezovi'' Sports Centre. With a seating capacity of 5,200, the stadium was built according to the Croatian Football Federation (CFF) and UEFA regulations. Dugopolje has thus been granted the right by the CFF and UEFA to host UEFA Europa League international football matches and qualifying matches of the Croatian national youth football teams. The football stadium hosts a number of preseason football matches and competitions of Croatian and football clubs from abroad, as well as football tournaments. The stadium is also home to a youth academy. The ''Hrvatski Vitezovi'' Sports Centre is the CFF Football Academy's partner (coach education courses to become a UEFA Pro A, B or C Licence holder). The measurements of the natural grass main football field are 102 m x 66 m. A training ground has also been built within the sports centre, measuring 100 m x 64 m, floodlit and with an artificial grass surface, which complies with the CFF regulations and thus allows evening matches.
TRAINING:
After having opened the football stadium, the Municipality of Dugopolje founded a company called Podi Dugopolje d.o.o. / Ltd as its own owner. Apart from providing municipal services, the company is also responsible for the management of the football stadium and is in charge of renting the main football field and the training ground. The stadium is the home of Dugopolje Football Club, a successful local Second Division football team.
The football stadium with a seating capacity of 5,200 also houses the Dugopolje Football Club's administration offices, office space, a cafe bar and a private physiotherapy practice which is the partner of NK Dugopolje. The training ground with temporary stands that hold 500 spectators is situated next to the stadium and uses the stadium infrastructure; dressing rooms with showers and toilet facilities, seating area for players, tactics board, press conference room, etc. Training equipment includes: two portable goals, agility hurdles, slalom poles, cones, agility ladders, football nets, electric football compressor pump, etc. The stadium provides the training equipment washing service on a daily basis.
